Deck Description

Hi everybody :)

I started playing Vanguard recently, and immediately fell in love with the Prison archetype.

I did test several builds, but none would give me statisfaction, but at last, after brewing a bit and playing the game, I have reached a somehow stable build.

You will notice that some key cards, that are most commonly played in Prison are not here, and I will explain my toughts.

Agra Rouge : getting only front row is too weak imo, and the attack power is not that relevant. The shield bonus is good though, but I think we have better options.

Perio Turquoise : never really been a fan of this one, most of the time it does nothing on the board, and it does not really contribute to our game plan (it does not emprison anything, nor it gains anything).

Accuse Malakite : this one could have been in the build, but I prefered Cuff Spring, which effect is free to use.

Now, let's see what we are working with.

The main idea of the deck is to win using ofc Seraph Purelight; which is THE VERY BEST card of the deck.

We want to play it as much as possible, which is why I run more Draw triggers.

The other key of the deck is Detain Seekler. Most of the time, we won't be reaching 10 in Prison in one turn, and if the opponents frees the prison in the next turn, we did not really gain anything. Which is why Seekler should be played the same turn that we plau Purelight.

This way, with a solid T3 Snow + T4 Purelight into Seekler + T5 2nd Purelight, we will have the 10 Prison and be able to push for the win.

Other cards are here to help this plan. 2 Plum and 2 Zenith so that we get the soul we need, Barrage Ltra to apply pressure in the early game and fuel the Prison a bit.

Violet tend to surprise, a PG on Grade 2- is veeery nice to have.

And the orders, Explosive Heart is useful against multi attacks Vanguards, and the other helps us reach the 10 count (and I have been impressed by that card, especially when played on Seekler turn).

I've been enjoying my games with this build, do not hesitate to play it yourself and tell me what you think.

Have a nice day \o/
